Buyer/Planner

The Buyer/Planner position executes a cost effective, uninterrupted flow of materials to completely satisfy customer demand with the least amount of inventory while meeting regulatory compliance within an innovative global medical device organization. As a Buyer/Planner you will aggressively negotiate the procurement of components, materials and services for the corporation utilizing your keen negotiation skills to negotiate service contracts, develop and manage the supplier base, process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders to various suppliers and analyze for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements. You will work to develop sources to ensure continuity of supply that meets quality requirements, request competitive pricing and on-time delivery; select supplier and place orders.

You will work to ensure material and resources are available to support organizational goals while working both independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives. In order to be successful you will have to function well with other groups and departments and be prepared to lead a team project when called to. Most importantly your effective communication skills are the key to maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and peers.
What it will take:
The Buyer/Planer should possess a BS in Purchasing, Materials Management, Engineering and/or Business Administration, along with 2 4 years working experience in procurement and planning, preferably in the medical device industry; additional years working experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Most importantly, a candidate should have hands-on experience and understanding of the procurement function and the use of ERP systems for planning and execution. Ideally you will have working experience with QAD or any other ERP system, thorough understanding of MRP systems, working experience in a regulated environment by the QSR under ISO and/or FDA, working knowledge on Lean and DMAIC. APICS and CPM certifications preferred
